I had to get off real fast before i was done with my last entry.
Last years thanksgiving was real good also. Uncle Creig, one of my mom's brothers lives in Macon, Georgia about 4 hrs drive from Ft Benning. Last year I called him up to see if he was doing anything. Well, they were spending it with his wife's family and they said I could come spend it with them.
Well, I made it a bit early before all the food got there.. I had gotten a Ham and no-one knew how to cook it (the cook hadn't gotten there yet and we were all hungry) so, we nuked it.. :)
Anyways, after the food all got there we ate and hung out for a bit and I had a good time..
In my opinion this time of year we are supposed to think about the blessings God's given us, good food, a nice family, and a wonderful life.. (not always so wonderful but God has a plan)..
This Thanksgiving, we're out at a patrol base. We come out here pull guard, do missions and sleep... :) We just recently got phones and internet out here which has made it real nice and added a bit more to do to pass the time out here. (the real reason I've been able to work on my blog so much recently)
Anyways, today they brought out a bunch of food and drinks from the Base(forgot the gravy) but I was surprised that we got to eat good food after all..
Well, I'll try to call everyone today (if I got your # out here with me.) From now on though it's time to prep for christmas which, even though I'm over here I'm still going to try to celebrate. :)

GBY, Son.. You are one of my most thankful things this year. I'm thankful for you and that the Lord has kept you and grown you and that you are such a blessing in my life and your mom and brothers and sisters. So many people always ask me about you, I sometime am amazed! We'll have a chair set up for you at the Thanksgiving table so, if you think about it, just imagine you're with us, K? I love you and we love you and pray often for you!! I'm going to send a little Powerpoint to your email about perspectives... I think you'll like it.

Only a few of us went to Valorie's. It was so different but still wonderfully nice. We had a huge dinner for 5 with a place for you at the head of the table with an army hat that your dad picked up from a recruiter at an expo we had a booth at. Next year you will be in it! We will have so MUCH more to be thankful for.
Thanksgiving was much more quiet this year. Alex and Elliott were not with us and Denise and Ron were also out of town. Emily is in Boston, so JoAnn and Jackson went up there for the holiday...but still, your Dad, Mom, Teri, Mark and I all ate a big dinner with lots and lots of food. Like your Mom said, we set a place for you at the head of the table, but I am sure that when we all ate pie in your honor, well, it didn't really do that much for you...:-) It was good pie though....Next year we will get a whole pie for you --and whatever kind is your favorite. We love you and stay safe...
